The Refuge offers several targeted life-change programs which include the Kaleidoscope Art program. Kaleidoscope uses art to bring about discussion, healing from pasts hurts and the feeling of accomplishment and creativity. The program is offered once a week during the day. Please consider providing one art class for a youth, a month of art classes or a year of art classes.
Description
Once basic needs have been met, youth can begin to work on positive life change. This, however, does not come easily to the youth of The Refuge as a harsh, painful history often holds them back. The Refuge wellness program seeks to bring health to the youth – both in body and in mind. Sometimes we play sports like hockey or baseball. Other times we will go skating. Still other times we might go for a walk in the woods. Other wellness activities include cooking classes or even dental hygiene discussion groups.
