The Refuge offers several targeted life-change programs which include Wilderness Rocs – an outdoors program that takes youth on a three-day camping/adventure trip to learn a series of life-impacting objectives, to experience life away from the stress of the streets of the Durham Region and to do something new in an encouraging, positive, fun atmosphere. Past trips have included Beausoleil Island Provincial Park, Bruce Peninsula National Park, Algonquin, Camp Medeba and more. Please consider providing the great outdoors for a youth or for the entire group of up to 10.
Description
Once basic needs have been met, youth can begin to work on positive life change. This, however, does not come easily to the youth of The Refuge as a harsh, painful history often holds them back. The Refuge offers several life-changing programs that seek to move beyond basic needs and work towards incremental life change including a 3-day camping trip. Wilderness Rocks uses theme based programming while in the outdoors to help facilitate life change in the youth who attend.
