Visits of Hope
$5.00 – $648.00
From time to time, Refuge youth find themselves incarcerated. Jail is often a lonely place and youth often spend months in jail where no-one will visit them. The Refuge staff visit youth when they find themselves in jail and will even pick them up when they are released. For most, The Refuge staff is the only visitor that they will see. Youth are also able to call collect from jail to speak to a staff member. Please consider providing one collect call, one jail visit or a month of jail visits.
Description
Dignity is something we often take for granted but the difference between being treated with respect and dignity and a lack of dignity is huge. Being treated with a lack of dignity crushes, oppresses and drains one of hope, energy and the desire to make a difference. However, on the flip-side of this, when one is treated with respect and dignity it can often motivate one to make a difference in their own lives. The Refuge seeks to interact with all youth in a manner that affirms their God-given dignity, individuality and the reality that they are made by God as special.
